ASSEMBLAGE INTRODUCES NEW COLLECTION OF BESPOKE LUXURY WALLCOVERINGS

Chicago, IL | September 12, 2023 – This September, ASSEMBLAGE is excited to introduce Euclid – a new collection of bespoke luxury wallcoverings available exclusively through HOLLY HUNT. Founded and operated by Heidi and Christian Batteau – a husband-and-wife team based in the Ozark Mountains – ASSEMBLAGE creates fine-art-quality wallpapers that are handcrafted and made-to-order by a small team of local artisans using all-natural materials, sustainable production practices, and a combination of innovative and centuries-old applied artistic methods. The Euclid collection will launch on September 12, available exclusively through HOLLY HUNT showrooms and HOLLY HUNT partner showrooms.

​Guided by the principle of finding order in nature, Euclid reflects the brand’s core tenet of honoring the Earth through design and the use of rare and precious materials. Three new patterns make up this collection, each inspired by natural phenomena from limestone formations to fossilized coral and informed by the Batteaus’ fascination with the patterns found in nature.

Tufa

Reminiscent of tufa limestone formations rising from the sea, Tufa is a duotone dimensional plaster which has a texture and subtle sheen that begs to be touched. It is available in three standard colorways.

Petoskey

Petoskey features a large radial pattern that is understated yet bold, inspired by the eponymous fossilized coral that lived in warm, shallow seas throughout the world during the Devonian Period some 350 million years ago. Petoskey is offered in three standard colorways.

Betula

Betula references the scientific name for the genus of trees and shrubs to which Birches belong. With its organic, horizontal pattern modeled after Birch bark, this textural paper has a quiet shimmer that will activate any space. Betula is available in seven standard colorways.

In keeping with its core values of artistic exploration and craftsmanship, ASSEMBLAGE uses a number of proprietary methods to push rare and precious materials beyond their historical limits, combined with age-old techniques such as hand-troweled marble plaster, hand-carving and silk screen printing. The result is a contemporary, fine-art quality aesthetic that moves the rich tradition of American craftsmanship forward. The Euclid wallcoverings are made using these additive and subtractive processes, featuring marble plaster, ground mica, metal leaf, and inks finished with wax or resin.

ASSEMBLAGE wallcoverings are hand-crafted in Witter, Arkansas by a small team of local artisans. Housed in a repurposed seed mill, the machine-less studio utilizes 100% caught rainwater and LED lighting throughout. The newly-expanded 12,000 square-foot workroom has tripled production and drying capacity for the team’s handmade processes, allowing ASSEMBLAGE to further its mission of fostering American craftsmanship by mastering handmade techniques, sourcing the finest materials, and creating jobs for artisans who take pride in what they make. Each 30-foot panel takes at least one week to make, by hand, from start to finish. A single team is assigned to each length, shepherding it through the artistic journey of applying individual layers of plaster and other materials to ensure consistency of hand.

​In addition to the Euclid collection, ASSEMBLAGE is pleased to introduce Bracket Leaf – an elevated version of Bracket, a perennial favorite, now featuring dazzling dashes of precious metal leaf. ​ Inspired by the stoic rectangles that make up the urban skyline, it is available in five colorways. Bracket Leaf will launch alongside the Euclid collection on September 12.
